Agri-Business Incubator, SKUAST-Jammu organizes webinar on Cloud Computing

Agri-Business Incubator, SKUAST-J, a unit of Division of Agricultural Economics & ABM, sponsored by MoA & FW in collaboration with NAHEP-IDP SKUAST-Jammu and under the guidance of Prof. J P Sharma, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, organized a webinar for budding entrepreneurs, students and faculty members on “Cloud Computing for Agri-Business.” The session was delivered by Mr. Aditya Kachroo, Cloud Consultant, CEVO Australia. He explained the basic concepts of cloud computing to the participants and how it is changing the modern technology based businesses. He also talked about the traditional data hosting methods and how cloud computing has a distinct edge over them. He listed the main advantages of cloud computing over other methods. He also informed about the top players in the market in this field along-with the entry methods to initiate the process of hosting through cloud computing. After the lecture the speaker interacted with the students and faculty members and answered their doubts and queries.

Enthusiastic Farmers Thronged Northern India Regional Agriculture Fair organized by SKUAST-Jammu

Enthusiastic farmers, school children and entrepreneurs thronged in large numbers in ‘Northern India Regional Agriculture Fair’ organized by SKUAST-Jammu to see innovative technologies developed by the University. A special session on Agriculture Education was organized for school children. Professor J.P. Sharma, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu motivated school students to opt for agriculture, horticulture, forestry, agricultural engineering and veterinary sciences as a career option after 10 th as agriculture education has immense scope both in public and private sector. He said that agriculture education prepares graduates for various entrepreneurial enterprises, thus making them job providers rather than job seekers. Dr. Ravi Shanker Sharma (KAS), Director School Education, Jammu was the Chairman of the session along with Dr. S.E.H. Rizvi, Dean Basic Sciences, SKUAST-Jammu.

Export Awareness Programme for Agri-Startups at SKUAST-Jammu

JAMMU, Under the Dynamic Leadership of Prof. J. P. Sharma, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Export Awareness Programme was conducted by Officers of Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India and organized by Agri-Business Incubator of SKUAST-Jammu (A Unit of Division of Agricultural Economics and ABM). The programme was organised under the supervision of Prof. Jyoti Kachroo, Head (AEABM) and P.I (RKVY-RAFTAAR) for the incubates undergoing training programme as a part of the RKVY-RAFTAAR activity. Faculty of the Division, staff of Agribusiness Incubator and Students of MBA (ABM), M.Sc. and Ph.D (Agricultural Economics) also attended the programme. The programme started with the welcome address by Prof. Jyoti Kachroo. During the programme Mr. Banerjee, Assistant Director, DGFT; Ms. Aruna Narula, Member, DGFT and Mr. Gagan Jain, MD, VKC nuts interacted and delivered lectures about the Export procedures and schemes for the budding entrepreneurs and start-ups. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr. Anil Bhat, Assistant Professor (Agricultural Economics). The programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Sudhakar Dwivedi, Assoc. Prof. (Agricultural Economics).
