Amritsar, Jan 30 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convener Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday said if his party's government is formed in Punjab, the pictures of Dr BR Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh will be installed in all the government offices. New Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal made this announcement at a press conference here. He said on January 26 he had announced in Delhi that there will be no pictures of chief ministers or other political leaders in Delhi government offices, only pictures of Dr. Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh. The same would be done in Punjab too. On the occasion, Punjab CM face of the party Bhagwant Mann welcomed the announcement.

Jammu, Oct 8 : The flights suspended due to COVID pandemic are set to resume as private airlines will soon start the operations from Jammu Airport to Amritsar and other prominent destinations. According to an official, the airlines will start operations from October 10 for Chandigarh, Dehradun, Amritsar and Jaipur from Jammu Airport.

Chandigarh, Sep 16 : Adopting a humane approach towards the growing stray dog menace, Punjab government has decided to further ramp up the ongoing drive to sterilize street dogs in the state for controlling their population and checking the human-animal conflicts. For this purpose, the Local Government department will engage veterinary doctors at the municipality level to give further impetus to the animal birth control and anti-rabies (ABC/ AR) programme in a humane manner.

Chandigarh/Amritsar, Aug 9 : A high alert has been sounded in Punjab following the recovery of a Tiffin Box fabricated into an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) or Tiffin Bomb along with five hand grenades and 100 rounds of 9mm pistol recovered from village Daleke, Lopoke in Amritsar.

New Delhi, Mar 22 (UNI) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday said that it has filed a charge sheet against seven Khalistani operatives under section 120B of IPC, sections 4 & 5 of Explosive Substances Act and sections 13, 17, 18, 18B, 19, 20 and 23 of UA (P) Act in the NIA Special Court, Mohali, Punjab for their alleged involvement in a case pertaining to recovery of two Hand Grenades and one Samsung mobile phone from a bag in Amritsar on June 2, 2019.

New Delhi, Feb 4 (UNI) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday said that the agency sleuths have conducted searches in Amritsar and Gurdaspur districts of Punjab and recovered Rs 20 Lakh (drug proceeds), 130 live rounds of 9 mm ammunition, mobile phones, pen drive and other incriminating documents, as part of its probe in Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM) narco-terror funding case.

Amritsar, Dec 17 (UNI) Two militants were killed by the Border Security Force (BSF) while they were trying to infiltrate into India at the Attari border in the wee hours of Thursday. Narcotics substance and weapons have been recovered from the two infiltrators. The two were trying to cross the border in the fog near Attari border in Amritsar. When warned, the militants opened fire on the BSF, prompting the Army to retaliate.
