Kushinagar : PM will visit Mahaparinirvana temple

Kushinagar (UP), May 16 : On the birth anniversary of Lord Buddha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will offer a Chevre (Chadar) and prayers at the Mahaparinirvana temple here in Uttar Pradesh after his return from Nepal's Lumbini. It is the same temple, where Lord Buddha attained Nirvana. Modi is scheduled to reach Kushianagar at 4 pm from Nepal. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will receive him at the Kushinagar International airport. A delegation of Buddhist monks, including the President of the Bhikshu Sangh AB Dnyaneshwar, will also be present during the offering of the 'Chevre'.

UP to become dreamland for sportspersons

Lucknow, April 22 : Uttar Pradesh is soon going to become a dreamland for the aspiring sportspersons in the country as the Yogi government has started preparations for setting up sports grounds and gymnasiums in 100 Gram Panchayats across the state. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is showing concern towards the skill development and fitness of our upcoming generations of sports stars. In order to promote sports talent and boost the skills of players coming out from the small villages and districts, the Yogi Government, in its second innings, has prioritised providing sports facilities to all the players, officials here on Friday said. The focus of the state government, which is engaged in realizing the mission 'Khoob-Khelo-Khoob-Badho', is mainly on the players coming out of the villages. The government is ensuring that the players, who have the potential to bring laurels to the country, should not be deprived of any facilities.

Yogi to file his nomination from Gorakhpur Sadar on Feb 4

Gorakhpur, Jan 30 : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will file his nomination for the Gorakhpur Sadar assembly seat on February 4. This will be the first time Yogi Aditysnath will contest assembly polls. A five time MP from Gorakhpur, CM is presently an MLC. According to information received from sources, Yogi Adityanath will reach Gorakhpur on a four-day visit on February 2. For four days, CM will discuss and brainstorm with workers on election strategy, public relations with voters, virtual campaign meetings, and election strategy. During this he will also participate in various conferences.

UP procures over 11.32 lakh MT of paddy

Lucknow, Nov 29 : Ensuring timely payments to the farmers against the purchase of their produce, the Uttar Pradesh government has bought around 11.32 lakh metric tonnes of paddy so far in the ongoing Kharif marketing season at minimum support price. The purchase has benefitted more than 1.62 lakh farmers across the state.

Adopt a family this Diwali: Yogi

Lucknow, Nov 3 : Wishing the people of Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of Diwali, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday appealed to public representatives, government employees and even police to adopt one house each and celebrate the festival of lights with them. In a statement here on Wednesday, Adityanath said: "We have 16.5 lakh government employees and 4 lakh police force in the state. This is an appeal to all of them to adopt a family on this occasion and celebrate their Diwali with them".
