India records 16,464 new Covid cases

New Delhi, Aug 1 : A total of 16,464 new cases of Covid-19 was reported in India, the Health Ministry said on Monday. According to a bulletin issued by the Ministry, the total caseload rose to 4,40,36,275 while the death toll rose to 5,26,396 as 39 more succumbed to the disease.

Pakistan reports 592 Covid cases, 7 deaths

Islamabad, July 20 (UNI/Xinhua) Pakistan reported 592 new Covid-19 cases and seven more deaths during the last 24 hours, the country's ministry of health said on Wednesday. The tally of infected people increased to 1,547,795 with the new cases, according to the data released by the ministry.

Vietnam reports 1,344 new Covid cases

Hanoi, May 25 (UNI/Xinhua) Vietnam recorded 1,344 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, according to its Ministry of Health. The Vietnamese capital Hanoi was the pandemic hotspot with 316 new cases recorded on Wednesday, followed by the northern Vinh Phuc province with 94 and the northern Bac Ninh province with 90.

India logs 3,688 new Covid cases

New Delhi, April 30 : A total of 3,688 people tested positive for Covid-19 during the past 24 hours in the country, the Union Health Ministry said on Saturday. According to the bulletin issued by the Ministry, the total caseload rose to 4,30,75,864 while the death toll rose to 5,23,803 as 50 more succumbed to the disease. On the other hand, 2,755 more people recovered from the disease in the last 24 hours, taking the total tally to 4,25,33,377. The recovery rate stands at 98.74 per cent. The active caseload stands at 18,684, the figures showed. As per the bulletin, 83.74 crore tests for Covid-19 have been done so far. India has administered 188.89 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine so far under the ongoing nationwide vaccination drive.

Release pending wages of Anganwadi workers, helpers before Eid : Tarigami

Srinagar, April 28 : CPI (M) leader Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami on Thursday alleged that Anganwadi workers and helpers working under the Integrated Child Development Service (ICDS) scheme in Jammu and Kashmir are without wages for the past eight months. In a press statement, Tarigami urged the concerned authorities for the release of pending wages before Eid festival. The Eid festival is being celebrated either on Monday or Tuesday subject to the appearance of crescent. He said these scheme workers had worked tirelessly during the fight against Covid-19 pandemic and were at the forefront. These workers have to feed their families, but despite working hard, they are not paid their wages on time, he added.
