Palestine reports 933 Covid cases

Ramallah, Jan 19 (UNI/Xinhua) Palestine has reported 933 new Covid-19 cases, a new high over the past few weeks in its territories, the Palestinian Authority Health Ministry said.

350 more tests positive for Covid19 in Arunachal

Itanagar, Jan 19 : Arunachal Pradesh’s Covid19 case tally shot up to 57,387 as 350 more persons have tested positive for the infection during the past 24 hours, a senior health official said on Wednesday. Conversely, 129 people were cured of the disease in the period, taking the total number of recovered cases to 55,408, he said. Of the fresh infections, Itanagar Capital Complex accounted for the highest 115 cases, followed by West Kameng (40), Namsai (37), Papum Pare (30), Changlang (27), East Siang and Lohit (18 each), and Lower Dibang Valley (17). Tirap detected eight cases and Tawang six, while five each came from Lower Siang and Lower Subansiri. 187 of the total cases turned out to be asymptomatic and 163 symptomatic, the official said, adding that the day’s positivity rate was recorded at 24.17 per cent, which stood at 21.38 per cent on Tuesday.

SKorea reports 5,805 Covid cases

Seoul, Jan 19 (UNI/Xinhua) South Korea reported 5,805 more Covid-19 cases raising the total number of infections to 705,902, as per the country's health department. Of the new cases recorded till Tuesday midnight, 1,125 were Seoul, while 2,116 in Gyeonggi province and 401 in Incheon.

SKUAST students interact with army major

Major Y. S. Rawat from 4 Madras Regiment, Miran Sahib shared his working in the army with SKUAST-Jammu students. During the interaction, Major Rawat, gave tips for applying to UPSC entrance exams and SSB to students. He also apprised students about other opportunities such as short service scheme, technical entry scheme, CDS and RVC through which one can join the army. Students from all the three faculties and School of Biotechnology participated in the interaction following COVID-19 appropriate behavior. Major Rawat also interacted with Dr. Bikram Singh, Dean, Faculty of Agriculture. The motivational speaker series is a part of the expert lecture initiative of the Counselling and Placement Cell, SKUAST Jammu as a part of which civil officers (IAS, IPS and KAS), military officers, and people from academia and civil society share their experiences with students. The Programme was coordinated by Prof. Sanjay Guleria, Incharge Counselling and Placement Cell.

Himachal’s Hamirpur district mandates Covid test

S Korea reports 3,510 new Covid cases

Seoul, Jan 8 (UNI/Xinhua) South Korea has reported 3,510 new cases of Covid-19, raising the total number of infections to 661,015. Of the new cases, 933 were Seoul residents. The number of the newly infected people living in Gyeonggi province and Incheon was 1,168 and 193 respectively.

Nagaland records 31 new COVID positive cases

Kohima, Jan 07 : Nagaland recorded 31 new COVID-19 cases, increasing the overall Coronavirus count in the state to 32,247, a state health bulletin said on Friday. With a report of one death, the death count increased to 703.
