Srinagar, Jun 1 (UNI) Asserting that COVID curfew was eased to give relief to people from restrictions despite above 5 per cent positivity rate in most districts of the valley, Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole urged people to follow the guideline and get vaccinated to avoid another lockdown.

Srinagar, May 1 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday extended the 84-hour-long COVID curfew in four districts -- including Srinagar, Baramulla, Budgam and Jammu – till May 6 amid unabated rise in the number of fresh Coronavirus cases and deaths. The 84-hour-long curfew that commenced on Thursday evening was to end on Monday morning in J&K, which on recorded 47 deaths and 3832 fresh COVID-19 cases on Saturday. However, essential services were exempted from the lockdown.

The COVID-19 cases have risen unabated in Kashmir valley, particularly the summer capital, Srinagar, which has recorded the major chunk of positive cases during the last about a fortnight. Srinagar alone, out of 3023 new COVID-19 cases in J&K, reported 951 cases on Wednesday while Baramulla recorded 246 cases followed by Budgam with 199 cases.
