New Delhi, May 13 (UNI) Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Thursday alleged that the pharmaceutical companies Serum Institute of India and Bharat Biotech are profiteering at the expense of the common man. "Price of each vaccine should be capped at ₹150/dose. The current prices are exorbitant. @SerumInstIndia @BharatBiotech are profiting with about Rs 16000 crore each at the expense of the common man," the Health Minister tweeted along with the figures of estimated profit of SII through sale of COVID vaccine Covishield.

New Delhi, May 10 (UNI) Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain on Monday said the National Capital is facing an acute shortage of COVID-19 vaccines, with just one day's worth of Covaxin, and 3-4 days' worth Covishield in stock. ''Delhi is facing an acute shortage of vaccines. For Covaxin, we have stock only for one day left, and for Covishield, only 3-4 days' stock is available. We really want the entire population of Delhi to be vaccinated and are conducting a mass vaccination drive,'' Mr Jain said. According to an official statement, Mr Jain said a 400-bedded isolation and treatment centre for Covid patients has been set up at the Gurudwara Rakab Ganj by the Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee. He added that the Delhi government would extend every form of support to this centre.
