MUSHROOM CULTIVATION, A POTENTIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP FOR YOUTH: FAROOQ KHAN
Sh. Farooq Khan, Advisor to Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir during his recent visit to Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu interacted with the undergraduate students of the Experiential Learning Programme on Mushroom Cultivation and Spawn Production. He appreciated the efforts of students who are into learning the various aspects of mushroom cultivation and spawn production. He motivated the students to take up the enterprises of mushroom cultivation and
spawn production as these are the potential enterprises of the future and moreover they are now become fully trained on various aspects of the trade. He emphasized that artificial cultivation of mushrooms round the year can be a reliable source of income generation and help the students not only earn their livelihood but they can become job providers rather than job seekers.
Sensitization Programme for Students on Institutional Development Plan under NAHEP
SKUAST Jammu. 20.09.2021. A special sensitization programme was conducted under the National Agricultural Higher Education Project (NAHEP) of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) for the students at SKUAST-Jammu on 20-09-2021. The objective was to enlighten the students with respect to the opportunities that the Institutional Development Plan under this project will open up
for them. The project was recently launched by the Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Sh. Narendra Singh Tomar in the presence of Shri Kailash Choudhary and Sushri Shobha Karandlaje, Union Ministers of State for Agriculture & Farmers’ welfare. The project was developed under the able guidance of Dr. J.P. Sharma, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of SKUAST-Jammu. During the event, Dr. Nazir A Ganai, Director, Planning and Monitoring SKUAST-Kashmir delivered a keynote
address. He emphasized on how this project has the ability to transform the agricultural education system.
