Jakarta, Aug 22 : An earthquake measuring 5.8 on the Richter scale hit the Bali resort island in central Indonesia on Monday, the country's meteorology, climatology and geophysics agency said.

TOKYO, May 29 (Sputnik) A 5.3 magnitude earthquake has been registered off the eastern Japanese prefecture of Ibaraki, the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) said on Saturday. The tremor was recorded at 8:21 local time (23:21 GMT on Friday) at a depth of 10 kilometers (6.2 miles).

MOSCOW, May 8 (Sputnik) – A 6.0 magnitude earthquake has been registered near the Fiji island nation, the US Geological Survey said. The tremor was recorded at 23:35 GMT at a depth of 398 kilometers (247 miles), 340 kilometers east of the town of Levuka. There are no reports about any damage or victims caused by the earthquake, no tsunami alert has been declared. Fiji is located in a seismically active zone known as the Ring of Fire and regularly suffers from powerful earthquakes.

Srinagar, Feb 18 (UNI) An earthquake measuring 3.7 on the Richter Scale jolted parts of Ladakh late on Thursday morning, forcing people to rush out of their homes in panic. Officials said that tremors measuring 3.7 on Richter Scale hit parts of Ladakh at around 0739 hrs on Thursday. “The epicenter of the earthquake was Latitude 36.62 and Longitude 74.56,” they said, adding the depth of the quake was 200 km.

Moscow, Jan 19 (Sputnik) - A 6.4-magnitude earthquake has occurred in Argentina, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reports. The quake hit at 02:46 GMT on Tuesday, about 17 miles (27 kilometers) southwest of Pocito (located in Argentina’s west-central San Juan Province), USGS said. There were no immediate reports of damages. According to Argentinian media reports, the earthquake was felt in much of the country, including in several neighborhoods of Buenos Aires.

Tokyo, Dec 30 (Sputnik) A magnitude 5.1 earthquake on Wednesday hit Japan's Ibaraki prefecture not far from Tokyo, the country's meteorological agency said. The epicenter of the earthquake was located in northern Ibaraki at a depth of 60 kilometers (37 miles). The intensity of the aftershocks reached four scores under Japan's seven-score scale.
