Bihar Assembly polls: All sides talk jobs

New Delhi, Oct 28(UNI) The first and foremost 'focus' from all fronts in the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections on Wednesday is jobs. Bihar Assembly Polls is the country's first Covid era election with 71 of the 243 constituencies going to polls on Wednesday. It comes after a campaign that significantly differed from other elections in recent memory.

EC constitutes committee to examine issues concerning expenditure limit for candidates

New Delhi, Oct 21 (UNI) The Election Commission has constituted a committee, comprising Harish Kumar, Ex-IRS and DG (Investigation); Umesh Sinha, Secretary General and DG (Expenditure), to examine the issues concerning expenditure limit for a candidate, in view of increase in number of electors and rise in Cost Inflation Index and other factors.

Biennial polls to Bihar LC on Oct 22

New Delhi, Sep 25 (UNI) The Election Commission on Friday announced that the biennial election to the Bihar Legislative Council from four Graduates and as many Teachers' Constituencies will be held on October 22. 'The term of office of eight members of the Bihar Legislative Council from Graduates' and Teachers' Constituencies has fallen vacant on May 6, due to the retirement of the sitting members,' the Election Commission said in a statement here.
