EAM Jaishankar, Italian FM discuss bilateral cooperation, Ukraine

New Delhi, May 6 : External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had a productive meeting with visiting Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio on Friday during which the two sides discussed collaboration with the EU for improving trade, energy and green transition, and also exchanged views on the Ukraine conflict and the Indo-Pacific. The two sides agreed that the increasing interest of Italian companies in Make in India and transfer of technology will enhance the bilateral relationship.

EAM holds talks with German counterpart, Economic Cooperation Minister

Berlin/New Delhi, May 2 : External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Monday held bilateral talks with his German counterpart Annalena Baerbock and with the German Economic Cooperation Minister Svenja Schulze, ahead of sitting down for the 6th India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations. In tweets, the EAM said that during talks with Baerbock, the two sides reviewed their bilateral cooperation and also discussed the Ukraine conflict and the Indo-Pacific. The two sides also signed an agreement on direct encrypted connection between the two Foreign Offices.

EAM arrives in Thimphu, to call on Bhutan King, PM Tshering

Thimphu/New Delhi, April 29 : External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar arrived in Bhutan on Friday on a two-day visit, during which he will receive an audience with King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and call on Bhutanese Prime Minister Dr. Lotay Tshering. Jaishankar, who was received at the airport by his counterpart Foreign Minister Dr Tandi Dorji, is Bhutan's first high-level visitor from abroad since March 2020, reflecting the great importance both countries attach to this bilateral relationship. The visit follows an invitation extended to the EAM by Foreign Minister Dr Tandi Dorji on the sidelines of the recent BIMSTEC summit in Colombo last month. New Delhi, April 27 : External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday said that India needs to put behind the era of seeking approval from “other quarters” on how it is perceived, and that the country needs to build its capabilities in every sphere in the next 25 years. Speaking at a session on India@75 at the Raisina Dialogue, the EAM also said that while India has been an example of democracy in South Asia, it would now like to see more prosperity in the region, and help other countries in the process of achieving it.
