New Delhi, May 7 (UNI) The Indian Railway on Friday said that in its continued efforts to bring relief by delivering Liquid Medical Oxygen(LMO) to various states across the country, it has delivered more than 2960 MT of LMO in 185 tankers to various states across the country. Noting that 47 Oxygen Expresses have already completed their journey, the Railway also said that the first Oxygen Express has reach reached Kota in Rajasthan.

New Delhi, Apr 2 (UNI) Indian Railways has logged highest ever electrification of sections covering 6,015 Route Kilometer (RKM) in single year during 2020-21, becoming environment friendly and providing boost to energy security. A lot of emphasis has been given to Railway Electrification in recent years with a view to reduce the Nation's dependence on imported petroleum-based energy and to enhance the country's energy security, with a vision of providing eco-friendly, faster and energy-efficient mode of transportation, Ministry of Railways said in a statement.

New Delhi, Mar 15 (UNI) The Railways on Monday said video circulated on social media that special trains currently operational from March 31, 2021 will be cancelled are misleading. 'Wrong news clips are being circulated in social media. All may please be informed that the video being circulated is last year's news being peddled today,' Ministry of Railways said in a statement. Indian Railways has not made any such announcement. Express trains and suburban trains currently operational as special trains will continue to run. It is also requested that the passengers may follow covid protocol while travelling.

Indian Railways registers highest-ever loading figure in January 2021

New Delhi, Feb 9 (UNI) Indian Railways has registered highest-ever loading figure 119.79 MT in January 2021, indicating fast moving economic upswing. The last best was in March 2019 as 119.74 MT. Indian Railways' Freight loading for the last few months have crossed last year's loading and earnings for the same period, Ministry of Railways said in a statement on Tuesday. It is expected that cumulative freight loading will surpass last year’s freight loading figures.

New Delhi, Oct 9 (UNI) Despite the Covid-19 restrictions, Indian Railways' freight loading for the month of October 2020 till October 8 crossed last year’s loading and earnings for the same period. The Railways loaded 26.14 million tonnes which is 18 per cent higher compared to last year’s loading for the same period of 22.1 million tonnes earning Rs 2,477.07 crore which is also Rs 250.71 crore higher compared to last year’s earnings for the same period (Rs 2,226.36 crore), an official release here said.
