IndiGo stands by its decision on denied boarding to special-need child

New Delhi, May 9 : Facing massive backlash over social media for denying boarding to a special-need child at Ranchi airport over the weekend, IndiGo on Monday stood by its decision saying it made the best possible decision under difficult circumstances. "While providing courteous and compassionate service to our customers is of paramount importance to us, the airport staff, in line with the safety guidelines, were forced to make a difficult decision as to whether this commotion would carry forward aboard the aircraft," Ronojoy Dutta, Whole Time Director and Chief Executive Officer at the airline said in a statement. "Having reviewed all aspects of this incident, we as an organization are of the view that we made the best possible decision under difficult circumstances," he added. The statement came hours after Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia warned the airline over the episode. "There is zero tolerance towards such behaviour. No human being should have to go through this! Investigating the matter by myself, post which appropriate action will be taken," the Minister said on Twitter.

IndiGo becomes first airline in Asia to land using GAGAN aided...

Kolkata, April 28 : IndiGo, India's leading carrier, has become the first Airline in Asia to conduct Localiser Performance with Vertical Guidance (LPV) Approach. IndiGo conducted the LPV approach on its ATR 72-600 aircraft, equipped with GAGAN, at Kishangarh Airport (Ajmer) on April 28, 2022. This test flight is a part of the approval process with DGCA, which includes training of pilots, validation of approach, simulator sessions amongst others, an IndiGo official here on Thursday said. The test flight was operated by Captain Sandip Sud and Capt Satish Veera and landed in the presence of Capt Shweta Singh, Dy CFOI, FSD, Cdr R.S. Jamwal, Director, ANS, Capt Adhiraj Yadav, SFOI, FSD, Capt Aditya Kumar Singh, FOI, FSD, Capt Vasu Gupta, FOI, FSD and Gaurav Raghuvanshi, AAI, and IndiGo team. This initiative was possible due to continuous endeavours of all stakeholders - MoCA, DGCA, ISRO, AAI and IndiGo.

IndiGo cautions candidates to beware of fake job offers

IndiGo, through its creatives on anti-fake jobs campaign across social media and website is raising awareness of how certain people claiming to represent IndiGo are misusing the brand name and the names of IndiGo employees, demanding money in exchange for interviews, jobs, or trainings.

IndiGo announces the appointment of Jiten Chopra as Chief Financial Officer

Gurgaon, Feb 10 (UNI) InterGlobe Aviation Ltd (IndiGo) has announced the appointment of Jiten Chopra as Chief Financial Officer effective February 21, 2021. Jiten will report to Ronojoy Dutta, Whole Time Director and CEO. Jiten succeeds Aditya Pande who is leaving IndiGo to pursue other interests. Ronojoy Dutta said, “We are fortunate and excited at Jiten accepting this position. His enormous expertise prior to IndiGo and his experience since February 2020 when he joined us, will greatly strengthen our team as we continue to build a world class national air transportation network.”

IndiGo kickstarts Goa Carnival under ‘India by IndiGo’ campaign

Kolkata, Feb 08 (UNI) Spreading festive cheer as part of its ‘India by IndiGo’ campaign, India’s leading carrier, IndiGo has revved up for the Goa Carnival starting February 07 to February 16. A cultural expedition to celebrate the diverse Indian culture, the campaign was launched with the colourful festival of Durga Puja in October, followed by Diwali and Christmas in November and December, respectively. IndiGo is celebrating the Goa Carnival at five of its stations including Goa, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.

IndiGo strengthens regional connectivity, launches Agra as 64th domestic destination

Kolkata, Jan 22 (UNI) To strengthen its regional connectivity, IndiGo, India’s leading carrier, announced Agra as its 64th domestic destination. The airline will connect Agra to Bengaluru and Bhopal through direct flights under the RCS scheme, effective March 28, 2021. The bookings are open with one-way fares starting at INR 2523 for Bhopal and INR 3789 for Bengaluru.

IndiGo upgrades plan B options, allows passengers to rebook flights partially...

Kolkata, Dec 22 (UNI) In line with the vision to provide hassle-free services to its customers, IndiGo, India’s leading carrier, has upgraded its Plan B options on the website and mobile app. The new additional option will allow a customer whose connecting flight has been cancelled, to either rebook partially - i.e., from origin till transit station or from transit station to destination - or take refund for the unused sector.
