Ernakulam NIA Court sentences accused to 6 years RI with fine...

New Delhi, May 3 (UNI) The anti-terror probe agency NIA on Monday said that Ernakulam NIA court convicted accused Ali Hossain alias Mohammed Ali Hossain in a Thrissur Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) case to six years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 85,000. Accused Ali Hussain, a resident of Pada-Nutan Shibanagar in Murshidabad district of West Bengal was booked under sections 489B and 489C of IPC for his role in procuring, possessing and circulating FICN in Kerala.

फरीदाबाद, 3 मई। कोविड- 19 महामारी के बढ़ते केसों के कारण बिस्तर, ऑक्सिजन और दवाइयों का अभाव होता जा रहा हैं जिससे दिन प्रतिदिन मानव जीवन की हानि हो रही है इसी को मद्देनजर रखते हुए मानवीय संस्था भारतीय रैड क्रॉस सोसाइटी ,हरियाणा राज्य शाखा चंडीगढ से प्राप्त निर्देशानुसार श्री यशपाल उपायुक्त फ़रीदाबाद के मार्गदर्शन मे जिला रेडक्रॉस सोसायटी फरीदाबाद के द्वारा फरीदाबाद में बेड के अभाव को देखते हुए रैड क्रॉस नशामुक्ति केंद्र सेक्टर 14 फरीदाबाद के प्रांगण मे स्थित विभिन्न भवनों मैं 40 बिस्टरो वाला कोविद केयर सेंटर बनाने जा रही है। इस केंद्र के संचालन की रूपरेखा तैयार करने हेतु सोसाइटी के सचिव विकास कुमार ,सहसचिव बिजेंद्र सौरोत तथा विमल खण्डेलवाल समन्वयक प्लाज्मा ,पुरषोत्तम सैनी की संयुक्त टीम ने प्रस्तावित केंद्र के लिए विभिन्न जरूरत की चीजों के लिए जगह का मुआयना किया ।सोसाइटी के सचिव श्री विकास कुमार ने बताया कि इस कोविद केअर सेंटर मे 40 कोविद मरीजो के रहने की व्यवस्था की जाएगी तथा उनके लिए भोजन की व्यवस्था निःशुल्क की जाएगी रेड क्रॉस सोसाइटी राष्ट्रीय मुख्यालय नई दिल्ली की निगरानी में संचालित होने वाले कोविद केअर सेंटर मे 40 कोविद मरीजो के मुफ्त ऑक्सीजन, मुफ्त दवाइयों के अलावा भोजन की सुविधा मुहैया करवाई जाएगी 40 मरीजो मे से 20 मरीजो के लिए सभी प्रकार की सुविधाओ के लिए होने वाला खर्च राज्य रेड क्रॉस सोसायटी की वाईस चेयर पर्सन श्रीमती सुषमा गुप्ता के द्वारा वहन किया जाएगा ।।इस केंद्र को सुचारू रूप से चलाने हेतु अन्य सामाजिक और धार्मिक संस्थाओं का सहयोग भी लिया जाएगा।।

Maharashtra reports 63,282new COVID cases, 802 deaths

Mumbai, May 1 (UNI) Maharashtra on Wednesday reported 63,282 new COVID-19 cases and 802 deaths in the last 24 hours. The fresh surge in cases has taken the infections tally to 46,65,754 while the death toll soared to 69,615. At the same time as many as 61,326 people recovered from the deadly virus, taking the number of recoveries to 39,30,302 in the state. The recovery rate which was rising in the previous month has now fallen to 84.24 per cent, owing to the sudden spurt in cases.

Ambala, May 1 (UNI) Kisan Mahapanchayat leader Rakash Takait announced that the agitation of farmers against the three farm laws would continue till the Modi government withdraw these laws. He said that the farmers had been sitting in dharna on Delhi borders for the last five months and they would not lift their dharna till the three farm laws were withdrawn by the government.

COVID curfew extended in 4 J&K districts till May 6

Srinagar, May 1 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday extended the 84-hour-long COVID curfew in four districts -- including Srinagar, Baramulla, Budgam and Jammu – till May 6 amid unabated rise in the number of fresh Coronavirus cases and deaths. The 84-hour-long curfew that commenced on Thursday evening was to end on Monday morning in J&K, which on recorded 47 deaths and 3832 fresh COVID-19 cases on Saturday. However, essential services were exempted from the lockdown.

New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday visited a polyclinic at Saraswati Vihar for the ''symbolic start'' of the third phase of the ongoing nationwide COVID-19 vaccination drive and said that vaccination drive for the citizens in the age group of 18-44 will begin in the National Capital from May 3. Under phase III of the ongoing Covid vaccination programme beginning from May 1 onwards across the country, all people in the 18-44 age group will be eligible for inoculation. Mr Kejriwal said the Delhi government has already received 4.5 lakh vaccines and now they are distributing them in all districts. He appealed to every citizen that the vaccination is not walk-in yet, so please don't queue at the centres.

Indian Navy deploys 7 ships to transport oxygen-filled cryogenic containers from...

New Delhi, May 1 (UNI) In support of the nation’s fight against Covid-19 and as part of operation 'Samudra Setu II’, the Indian Navy on Saturday said that seven Indian Naval ships INS Kolkata, Kochi, Talwar, Tabar, Trikand, Jalashwa and Airavat have been deployed for shipment of liquid medical oxygen-filled cryogenic containers and associated medical equipment from various countries. INS Kolkata and INS Talwar which were on Persian Gulf deployment, were the first to immediately diverted for the task and entered port of Manama, Bahrain on April 30.

Punjab earns GST revenue of Rs 1481.83 cr in April 2021

Chandigarh, May 1 (UNI) Punjab has earned the revenue of Rs 1481.83 crore from GST during the month of April 2021 which is the highest ever revenue from GST for any particular month since the introduction of GST in the country during July, 2017. Stating details, an official spokesperson of the Taxation Commissioner’s office said that the earlier highest monthly revenue from GST was Rs 1216 crore which was earned during July, 2019 while the revenue from GST during April, 2020 was meagre Rs 156 crore.

Govt shuts Zoological, National Parks Tiger reserves & Wildlife sanctuaries

Hyderabad, May 1 (UNI) In view of rapid spread of SARS Cov-2 in the country, the Union Ministry of Environment Forests and Climate Change, New Delhi has issued an advisory to close all the Zoological Parks, National Parks, Tiger Reserves and Wildlife Sanctuaries for visitors till further orders to control the spread of the COVID – 19 pandemic.

DRDO provides 10,000 litres capacity oxygen cylinders for hospitals in Delhi

New Delhi, Apr 30 (UNI) With an aim to meet the demand of life saving medical oxygen to many hospitals, the Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has arranged 115 big size of cylinders with having capacity of 10,000 litres for various hospitals in Delhi. In this regard, DRDO has handed over 75 such cylinders to the Department of Health and Family Welfare of the Delhi Government while 40 such containers have been provided to Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) run Sardar Patel Covid Care Centre and Hospital at Chhatarpur in South Delhi which has been handed over to Cabinet Secretariat officials here.
