UP reports 727 fresh Covid cases

Lucknow, Jun 7 (UNI) The daily Covid cases in Uttar Pradesh has come down below 1000-mark on Monday, as the state recorded 727 new COVID cases, the lowest in two months. Lucknow, May 20 (UNI) As the number of deaths because of black fungus is rising, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked officials to ensure sufficient quantity of medical aids required for the treatment of this dread disease. “Ensure adequate availability of all essential medicines by communicating with health experts regarding the cause and treatment of black fungus,” he said here on Thursday while adding that a letter should be sent to the Government of India requesting to increase the allocation.

Lucknow, May 19 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has exuded confidence of having the perfect machinery in place to control and restrict the possible third wave of COVID-19, as the state will be using its experience of controlling the Japanese Encephalitis. Regarding the arrangements to tackle the third COVID wave, which the experts fear will affect children more, Adityanath, while addressing a high level meeting here on Wednesdsy, said, “Our experience in tackling the Japanese Encephalitis will help us in controlling the spread of third wave of COVID-19,” adding, "My Government has prepared an action plan to effectively check the third wave.”

Priyanka accuses UP govt of low Covid testing

Lucknow, May 18 (UNI) Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday hit out at the Yogi Adityanath dispensation over the alleged low Covid-19 testing in Uttar Pradesh, and asked if the government was preparing to make way for a third wave and then fight it. Her attack on the government came a day after the Allahabad High Court said the entire medical system in villages and small cities of Uttar Pradesh is at God’s mercy (‘Ram bharose’). “Only 800-1,000 RT-PCR tests are being conducted every day for the 32 lakh population of Bijnor. The honourable high court has said that 4,000-5,000 RT-PCR tests should be done daily in a district like Bijnore or else we are inviting the third wave,” Gandhi said in a tweet in Hindi on Tuesday.

Lucknow, May 18 (UNI) Emphasising the need for adequate medical and health care facilities to tackle the situation arising due to Black Fungus and possible Third wave, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked the officials to prepare post-COVID wards and PICU wards along with providing training to paediatricians, technicians and paramedical staff of all district hospitals. The CM, during his routine meeting with Team- 9 members here on Tuesday, further emphasized on other critical issues, including amongst others, provision of adequate medication for black fungus treatment and setting up of oxygen plants in private medical colleges.

UP govt places order for 17k oxygen concentrators

Lucknow, May 14 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh government on Friday placed order for 17,000 oxygen concentrators to meet the demand of life saving gas in the rural areas. Director General, Health, DS Negi said the order has been placed and oxygen concentrators will be available as soon as possible. To battle coronavirus, four Community Health Centres (CHC) hospitals in each district of Uttar Pradesh are being converted into L-1 Plus. These hospitals will have a total of 50 beds with oxygen concentrators and a special team of doctors for 24-hour monitoring of patients, officials said. The L-1 beds are generally the isolation beds but with oxygen facilities.
