Srinagar, Aug 10 : Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday congratulated Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav and said this should not be a mere formation of a government but a genuine start to bring secular and democratic forces together.

Srinagar, May 25 : Peoples Democratic Party leader Waheed Parra who was jailed for alleged terror links, was granted bail on Wednesday, his counsel said on Wednesday. “Waheed Para was granted bail by HC. Order of trial court set aside. Had the onerous duty to lead his defence and argue his bail appeal. Waheed walks out after more than a year in custody,” Parra’s lawyer Shariq Reyaz said.

Srinagar, April 26 : A day after the Supreme Court agreed to hear the pleas challenging the Centre's decision to abrogate Jammu and Kashmir's special status, former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti hopes the apex court "stays not only revocation of Article 370 but also reverses all the illegal laws brought in". The now abrogated Article 370 of the Constitution gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir. "A state robbed of its legal and constitutional special status was cleaved into two and disempowered.

Former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti and Peoples Conference (PC) chairman Sajjad Gani Lone have also strongly condemned the attack.

Srinagar, Aug 3 : Former chief minister and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti on Tuesday alleged that a former police officer, who was caught ferrying militants, was ‘let off’ while innocent Kashmiris rot in jails for years. “Innocent Kashmiris arrested under anti-terror laws rot in jails for years. For them, the trial becomes the punishment,” Ms Mufti wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.

Srinagar, Jul 28 : Former J&K chief ministers -- Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti -- on Wednesday expressed grief over the deaths due to flashfloods triggered by cloudburst in a remote village in Kishtwar district of Jammu division. Four bodies were recovered while several persons were missing after a cloudburst triggered flash floods on Wednesday morning in remote village Honjar of Dachhan in Kishtwar.
