AIIMS contribution in Covid crisis is commendable: Harshvardhan

New Delhi, Sep 25 (UNI) Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Harsh Vardhan on Friday urged the students to "aggressively and meticulously" brainstorm ideas that would help strengthen the medical services and position the country among top scientific nations. Taking part in the 65th foundation day celebrations of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the national capital, Dr Harsh Vardhan congratulated AIIMS for being at the top position among the medical institutes included in the National Institute Rankings by the Education Ministry and said AIIMS was constantly working to achieve high standards in health care services, education and research.

Delhi: 3,834 new nCoV cases, more than 2k containment zones

New Delhi, Sep 24 (UNI) The National Capital recorded 3,834 new cases of Novel Coronavirus during the past 24 hours, taking the overall case-count till date to 2,60,623, the state health bulletin said here on Thursday. The number of recoveries were lesser than fresh infections in the same duration, as 3,509 cured /discharged cases were registered since Wednesday, the bulletin added.

SC dumps petition on prevention of suicides among IIT students

New Delhi, Sep 24 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Thursday not only dismissed a petition seeking directions to authorities concerned to prevent suicides among Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) students, but also imposed a fine on the petitioner for filling an "utterly frivolous" petition. Lawyer Gaurav Kumar Bansal, in his petition, claimed that suicides rate among the IIT students is rising and appropriate steps are needed to prevent it.

ED attaches assets worth Rs 11.85 cr in bank fraud case

New Delhi, Sep 23 (UNI) Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday said that it has provisionally attached ‘proceeds of crime’ totalling Rs 11.85 crore in the form of movable properties belonging to main promoters in the case of Surya Vinayak Industries Ltd having registered office in Delhi, and its group companies under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) in a bank fraud case.
