Over 49.49 cr COVID-19 vaccine doses provided to States, UTs so...

New Delhi, Aug 1 : Over 49.49 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses have been provided to States and Union Territories (UTs) so far, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said here on Sunday. 'More than 49.49 crore (49,49,89,550) vaccine doses have been provided to States/UTs so far, through all sources and a further 8,04,220 doses are in the pipeline,' the Ministry said in a statement. Of this, the total consumption including wastages is 46,70,26,662 doses, it said.

Petrol, diesel prices remain stable for the 14th day in row

New Delhi, Jul 31 : Petrol and diesel prices remained unchanged across the country for the 14th consecutive day on Saturday. In Delhi, petrol prices remained at Rs 101.84 a litre while the rate of diesel was at Rs 89.87, according to Indian Oil Corporation Limited's (IOCL) price listing.

Rajya Sabha to consider Bill to amend Factoring Regulation Act, 2011

New Delhi, Jul 29 : The bill seeking to help MSMEs by broadening the scope of entities undertaking factoring is scheduled to be taken up by Rajya Sabha on Thursday amid fears of uproar by Opposition party members. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman would move the Factoring Regulation (Amendment) Bill,2021 for consideration of the Upper House. It has already been passed by the Lok Sabha.

India adds 43,654 COVID-19 cases, 640 deaths

New Delhi, Jul 28 : India recorded 43,654 new cases of COVID-19 during the past 24 hours pushing the case tally to 3,14,84,605, while the death toll mounted to 4,22,022 with 640 more fatalities, the Union Health Ministry said on Wednesday. According to the Ministry, the active cases rose by 1,336 to stand at 3,99,436. It is now 1.27 per cent of the total caseload.

New Delhi, Jul 27 : India reported less than 30,000 daily coronavirus infections after a gap of almost four months (132 days), Union Health Ministry data stated on Tuesday. As per the union health ministry's daily bulleting, the country reported 29,689 fresh COVID cases in the last 24 hours that pushed India’s overall Covid-19 tally to 3,14,40,951, while the death toll climbed to 4,21,382 with 415 daily fatalities.

New Delhi, Jul 27 : The total undisclosed credits amounting to Rs 20,078 crore have been detected till June 1, 2021 with links to the Panama Papers Leaks, the government said on Tuesday. The Panama Papers refer to voluminous leaked documents of Panama-based law firm Mossack Fonseca. The data exposed the network of entities and individuals who indulged in money-laundering, tax evasion and siphoning off funds with the help of the off-shore law firm.

India, Russia to hold INDRA joint military drill from Aug 1-13

New Delhi, Jul 27 : India and Russia will hold the 12th edition of their joint military exercise INDRA 2021 at Volgograd, Russia, from August 1 to 13, the Ministry of Defence announced on Tuesday. The exercise will entail conduct of counter terror operations under the United Nations mandate by a joint force against international terror groups, the MoD said.

New Delhi, Jul 22 : In what suggests pick-up in industrial activities, demand for electricity has been on the rise and peak requirement has been showing positive growth since September 2020. "From September, 2020 onwards, the peak demand had shown a positive growth over the same month of previous year. The peak demand in 2021-22 (upto June) as compared to previous year 2020-21 has also shown a positive growth," Minister of Power and New & Renewable Energy RK Singh told Lok Sabha on Thursday in written reply to a question.
