Bhubaneswar, Jul 26 : The daily covid load in Odisha further dipped to 1637 in the past 24 hours registering a 2.19 per cent test positivity rate while 62 more covid patients succumbed to the virus during the period.

Bhubaneswar, Jun 30 : Odisha reported a record 48 covid deaths in the past 24 hours taking the total fatalities in the state to 4018. Health and family Welfare department sources said all these 48 deaths were reported from 18 districts of the state with Khordha district registering the highest number of seven deaths.

Bhubaneswar, May 25 (UNI) Over 60,000 people were evacuated by 1000 hours today from the vulnerable areas of coastal Odisha as severe cyclonic storm Yaas over Bay of Bengal further intensified into a very severe cyclonic storm and likely to move further close to Chandbali- Dhamra port. Special Relief Commissioner P K Jena said the evacuation process is still going on in the most vulnerable five districts and some adjoining districts likely to be affected by cyclone Yaas.

Bhubaneswar, May 09 (UNI) After the highest spike of 21 covid deaths on May 7 last, Odisha witnessed a slight decline in the fatalities as 19 covid patients under treatment succumbed to the virus in the past 24 hours taking the total toll in the state to 2180. On May 6 last the state recorded 19 deaths which rose to 21 on May 7 and again the fatalities came down to 19 on May 8. Heath and Family Welfare department sources said while three each died in Khordha and Kalahandi district one each passed away in as many as 13 districts in the past 24 hours.

New Delhi, May 7 (UNI) The Indian Navy on Friday said that in view of rising number of Coronavirus cases in Khurda district of Odisha, it has set up a 150 bedded Covid care facility at its ab-initio Training Establishment, INS Chilka, under the aegis of Naval Officer -in- Charge (Odisha). This Centre, inaugurated by the district collector today, has 150 bed isolation centre with additional 15 bed oxygen facility at naval hospital at INHS Nivarini, the naval hospital, has been geared up for treating mild symptomatic Covid positive Patients.

Telangana govt airlifts eight Oxygen tankers to Odisha

Hyderabad, Apr 23 (UNI) In accordance with the directions of Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, the state government on Friday has airlifted eight oxygen tankers to the liquid oxygen plants in Odisha. This will not only save time but will also help in resolving the oxygen shortage problem in that state to a great extent. It is the first instance the oxygen tankers have been airlifted.

Bhubaneswar, Dec 10 (UNI) Odisha reported 343 new covid cases and five deaths in the past 24 hours taking the tally in the state to 3,22,642 with 1794 fatalities. Health and Family Welfare department sources said one death each reported from five districts in the past 24 hours. At the same time, 343 new cases were registered from 25 districts of which 197 were reported from the quarantine centres and rest 147 are local cases.
