Hyderabad, Mar 30 (UNI) The City police on Tuesday arrested a three-member gang for cheating the public in the name of government officials to the tune of Rs 3 crore. Police seized net cash of Rs 1,00,30,000, documents of house property worth Rs 1.03 crore, one car worth Rs 14 lakh, 14 cell phones worth Rs 3 lakh, all worth about Rs 2,20,30,000, one toy pistol, two pairs of Safari dress, three fake ID cards, 4 fake Police ID cards, three fake Secretariat entry cards from their possession.

Bengaluru, Dec 16 (UNI) Over Rs 1.15 crore worth drugs have been seized from a house and four inter-State drug peddlers arrested in Amruthahalli, police said on Wednesday. The arrested were identified as Tirupaal Reddy, Ajay Ahamad (locals), Kamaleshan and Satish Kumar (both hailing from Tamil Nadu), police said.

Mumbai, Oct 15 (UNI) Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Ramdeo Tyagi passed away here on Thursday after prolonged illness. He was 80.Late Tyagi was suffering from the last stage of cancer and had been admitted at the Hinduja Hospital since the past few days.

Srinagar, Oct 4 (UNI) As many as 157 personnel of Jammu and Kashmir police were promoted in the central Kashmir district of Badgam, a police spokesman said on Sunday. He said Superintendent of Police (SP) Amod Ashok Nagpure has ordered In-situ promotion approved by Departmental Promotion Committee in favour of 157 officials of District Police Budgam.
