New Delhi, Sep 16 : Former President Ram Nath Kovind will on Friday release a book titled 'Ambedkar & Modi: Reformer’s Ideas Performer’s Implementation' with a foreword by Rajya Sabha MP Ilaiyaraaja. Compiled by Bluekraft Digital Foundation, the book delves deep into the life, works and achievements of Dr Ambedkar while drawing a parallel with the policies and reforms unleashed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

It’s new era for J&K, Ladakh : Kovind

New Delhi Jan 31 : President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday asserted that the government has ushered in a new era of development in Jammu & Kashmir, and Ladakh region. He was addressing the customary joint session of both the houses of parliament ahead of the Union Budget. Recounting the various development work undertaken by the government in the two Union Territories, Kovind said the government has started a new central scheme for Jammu & Kashmir's industrial development at a cost of about Rs 28,000 crore. “Last year Qazigund-Banihal tunnel was opened to traffic and international flights between Srinagar and Sharjah have also started,” he said. Kovind also mentioned about the step being taken by the government in the Education and Health sector in the UT.

Prez, VP, PM pay tributes to Mahatma Gandhi

New Delhi, Jan 30 : President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary, also observed as Martyrs' Day. The President paid floral tributes to the 'Father of the nation' at Raj Ghat in Delhi on the occasion. In a series of tweets, the Vice President wrote, "My respectful tributes to 'Father of the Nation' Mahatma Gandhi Ji on his death anniversary today. An apostle of peace and non-violence, Gandhi Ji played a colossal role in India's freedom struggle and in shaping the destiny of India."

Unprecedented security arrangements in place, roads leading to SKICC remain closed

Srinagar, Jul 27 : Unprecedented security arrangements have been made for the 19th Convocation of Kashmir University at S K International Convention Centre (SKICC) on the bank of famed Dal Lake. President Ram Nath Kovind addressed the convocation as Chief Guest. The convocation was presided over by Lt Governor of Union Territory (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha who is also Chancellor of the KU.

President Kovind undergoes successful bypass surgery

New Delhi, Mar 30 (UNI) President Ram Nath Kovind has undergone a successful bypass surgery at All India Institute of Medical Sciences here, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh informed through social media. "I congratulate the team of Doctors for successful operation. Spoke to Director AIIMS to enquire about Rashtrapatiji's health. Praying for his well-being and speedy recovery," Mr Singh tweeted. President Kovind was admitted at the Army Research & Referral Hospital on March 26 after he felt chest discomfort. After the President was stable, he was referred to AIIMS for further investigation.

New Delhi, Mar 30 (UNI) President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday greeted the people of Rajasthan on it's statehood Day. The state of Rajasthan was formed on March 30, 1949 when Rajputana, a name adopted by the British for its dependencies in the region, was merged into the Republic of India. Since then, March 30 is every year celebrated as the Rajasthan 'Diwas'.

Mughal Gardens to open for public from Feb 13

New Delhi, Feb 11 (UNI) The picturesque Mughal Gardens will open for public from Saturday and visitors will be allowed to see it only through advance online booking, according to a statement issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday.
