PM seeks greater participation of Japanese business leaders

Tokyo/New Delhi, May 23 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a round-table with Japanese business leaders and invited their greater participation in India. Top executives and CEOs of 34 Japanese companies from diverse sectors, including automobiles, electronics, semi-conductors, steel, technology, trading and banking and finance, participated in the event. Majority of these companies have investments and operations in India, the PMO informed.

Modi-Deuba talks to focus on hydropower, infrastructure, connectivity

Kathmandu/New Delhi, May 16 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is on a day-long visit to Lumbini, and his Nepalese counterpart Sher Bahadur Deuba will hold bilateral talks on Monday with focus on the construction of hydropower projects, development of physical infrastructure of Nepal and expansion of connectivity. In the bilateral talks to be held between the delegations headed by both the Prime Ministers, matters related to overall mutual benefits and interests as well as enhancement of trade, tourism, investment and people-to-people relations would be discussed, a media report said. An official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) told My Republica that the agenda related to development assistance for infrastructure development of education and health sectors, trade facilitation, mutual benefits, collaboration and partnership promotion would be emphatically raised in the talks. Nepal's Ambassador to India Shanker Prasad Sharma said that PM Deuba's New Delhi visit in April and Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) signed on the occasion would be reviewed.

20 closed CIL mines started for reoperationalisation on revenue sharing model

Mumbai, May 6 : In a bid to ensure availability of large stocks of coal in the near future to meet the rising demand and to reduce dependence on imported coal, the Ministry of Coal on Friday opened up closed or discontinued mines of CIL for private players on a revenue sharing model. Speaking at the launch of the closed mines of state-run Coal India at an event organised here, Union Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi said the demand for coal will go up significantly in the days to come. Under this new scheme, Coal India has proposed to open up 20 closed mines of its subsidiaries for re-operationalisation by the private players, wherein the latter will be able to sell the extracted coal in the market at the prevalent rates.

Berlin/New Delhi, May 3 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said his Germany visit has been a productive one, and the talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz were extensive, as he left for Copenhagen on the second leg of his three-nation tour. In a tweet, the PM thanked the German Government for their hospitality. “My Germany visit has been a productive one. The talks with @Bundeskanzler Scholz were extensive and so were the Inter-Governmental Consultations. “I got a great opportunity to interact with business and Indian community leaders. I thank the German Government for their hospitality.” PM Narendra Modi later left for Denmark, on his first visit to the Nordic nation. He will hold talks with Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen to take forward the unique bilateral Green Strategic Partnership. The meeting between PM Modi and his Danish counterpart will be the third summit level interaction between them. The Danish leader had visited India last year for summit level talks on the Green Strategic Partnership.

India, Denmark to review progress of Green Partnership

New Delhi, May 3, : India and Denmark are set to review the progress of their Green Strategic Partnership during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit and expand multifaceted cooperation in areas like renewable energy, environmental policy, trade, climate policy and science and technology. At the invitation of Prime Minister of Denmark Mette Frederiksen, Modi is visiting the country as part of his three nation tour. The Denmark visit would provide both sides an opportunity to review the progress of Green Strategic Partnership between the two countries as well as examine ways to further expand multifaceted cooperation in other areas.

New Delhi, April 30 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday called himself a veteran at the Joint Conference of Chief Ministers and Chief Justices of High Courts, as he urged ministry, legal officers and state governments' heads in attendance to evolve a forward-looking judicial system that will be a pioneer for others by 2047. Addressing the meeting at Vigyan Bhawan here, Modi termed it has special significance as it comes in the 75th year of our Independence. PM inaugurates CMs & CJs conference

New Delhi, April 30 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday inaugurated a joint conference of chief ministers and chief justices of high courts at Vigyan Bhawan here. He will also address the inaugural session. Chief Justice of India NV Ramana and Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju will also address the conference that aims to create frameworks for simple and convenient delivery of justice. The Joint Conference is an occasion for the executive and the judiciary to come together to create frameworks for simple and convenient delivery of justice and to discuss steps required to overcome the challenges facing the justice system. The previous such conference was held in 2016. According to the PMO, the government has taken various initiatives for improving infrastructure and integration of digital technology in court processes under eCourts Mission Mode Project.
