Workshop on Start -up Ideas Organized by SKUAST-Jammu under NAHEP-IDP

NAHEP-IDP-SKUAST-Jammu, under the guidance of Prof. Nazir Ah. Ganai, Vice Chancellor SKUAST-Jammu, organized one day workshop on Start - up Ideas. Prof. Rakesh Nanda, Director Education SKUAST -Jammu was Chief Guest and Prof. Jyoti Kachroo, Director P&M, Head AEABM and PI RKVY-RAFTAAR was Guest of Honour on the occasion. Prof. Rakesh Nanda in his address said that special attention needs be given to the fact that start-up ideas should be technically feasible as well as economically viable. Motivating UG and PG students to become agri-entrepreneurs, Prof. Nanda shared his experiences and listed natural farming, organic farming, local products and hand holding of start-ups as key action points. He expressed satisfaction that NAHEDP-IDP, SKUAST-J is taking the right steps in this direction. Prof Jyoti Kachroo, delivered expert lecture on innovation and startup ideas.

SKUAST-Jammu holds 8th R-ABI Incubation Committee Meeting under RKVY-RAFTAAR Project

Professor J.P. Sharma, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu appreciated the innovative ideas and products showcased by potential agri-entrepreneurs many of whom were found to be technically feasible and economically viable thereby having the potential to tap the opportunities present in the market. Prof. Sharma was speaking while chairing the eighth R-ABI Incubation Committee (RIC) meeting of Agri-Business Incubator, SKUAST-Jammu under the RKVY-RAFTAAR project held at Main Campus, Chatha of SKUAST-Jammu. Prof. Sharma welcomed all the present experts along with those who joined through online mode and appreciated their valuable presence and relevant inputs for selecting the right incubates to be forwarded to Ministry of Agriculture & Framers’ Welfare, GoI for funding under RKVY-RAFTAAR project. Prof. Sharma in his concluding remarks said that the conceptual ideas and prototypes developed by the participants hold a lot of promise for the agri-business sector. He further added that special attention needs be given on natural input products in order to promote natural and organic farming.

To celebrate the “Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav” today on 22/09/2021 Dean Student Welfare, SKUAST-Jammu in collaboration with Blood Transfusion Medicine, Govt. Medical College Jammu and NSS, SKUAST-Jammu organized painting competition to commemorate the voluntary Blood Donation Day.

Export Awareness Programme for Agri-Startups at SKUAST-Jammu

JAMMU, Under the Dynamic Leadership of Prof. J. P. Sharma, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Export Awareness Programme was conducted by Officers of Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India and organized by Agri-Business Incubator of SKUAST-Jammu (A Unit of Division of Agricultural Economics and ABM). The programme was organised under the supervision of Prof. Jyoti Kachroo, Head (AEABM) and P.I (RKVY-RAFTAAR) for the incubates undergoing training programme as a part of the RKVY-RAFTAAR activity. Faculty of the Division, staff of Agribusiness Incubator and Students of MBA (ABM), M.Sc. and Ph.D (Agricultural Economics) also attended the programme. The programme started with the welcome address by Prof. Jyoti Kachroo. During the programme Mr. Banerjee, Assistant Director, DGFT; Ms. Aruna Narula, Member, DGFT and Mr. Gagan Jain, MD, VKC nuts interacted and delivered lectures about the Export procedures and schemes for the budding entrepreneurs and start-ups. The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Dr. Anil Bhat, Assistant Professor (Agricultural Economics). The programme ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Sudhakar Dwivedi, Assoc. Prof. (Agricultural Economics).
