5 militants down in Shopian after 2 fresh kills
Srinagar, Oct 12 : Security forces on Tuesday brought down five terrorists in Shopian alone as they gunned down two more unidentified militants in South Kashmir hours after the gunfight broke out leaving three militants dead.
J&K: JCO, 4 Army Jawans killed in Poonch encounter
Jammu, Oct 11 : A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) and four soldiers were killed on Monday in an encounter between security forces and heavily armed terrorists in Surankote area of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir.
"The operation is on and there are reports that one JCO and four jawans of Army have been killed in the exchange of fire," official sources said.
Major tragedy averted; six grenades found along highway in Srinagar
Srinagar, Sep 13 : Security forces averted a major tragedy when they found six grenades on the national highway in the outskirts of Srinagar Monday.
Public Relations Officer (PRO) of CRPF Abhiram said during routine Road Opening exercise, along Srinagar-Baramulla highway, the alert troopers of 73 Battalion recovered six Chinese Grenades from a sandbag placed on the divider of the road.
