Amit Shah arrives Arjun Chowrasia’s home in Kolkata

Kolkata, May 6 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived at the residence of Arjun Chowrasia, whose body was found hanging at Cossipore in North Kolkata on Friday. Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari along with State BJP president Sukanta Majumder and Minister of State for Home Nishith Pramanik accompanied Shah. People, who thronged there, demanded a CBI probe into the incident. Meanwhile, a special task force of Kolkata Police took away the body of Chowrasia, denying the bereaved family members' wish to wait until the arrival of Union home minister Amit Shah, BJP's women wing leader Priyanka Tibrewal said. Bengaluru, May 2 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be visiting the state on Tuesday amid Karnataka BJP legislators exhibiting pressure to restructure Basavaraj Bommai cabinet. During his trip to the city, exactly after a month's time, Shah is expected to give a big task for party leaders and workers to reach out to beneficiaries, a strategy that has paid huge dividends for the BJP in last assembly elections in five states including Uttar Pradesh, where sitting Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath returned to power by a good margin. He is also expected to meet senior party leaders including Bommai and veteran party leader BS Yediyurappa among others, to discuss next year's state polls. However, there is no official mention of such a meeting. Bommai is under tremendous pressure from aspirant legislators, who are expressing their ire over the delay in restructuring the cabinet under the leadership of MP Renukacharya, who is the political secretary to the CM. Renukacharya argued that if new faces are inducted into the cabinet, they devotedly work and bring good name to the party and the government.

Puducherry, April 21 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during his one-day visit on Sunday, will lay foundation stones for three academic buildings at Pondicherry University (PU)which will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 48.66 Crore. A PU release on Thursday said, foundation stones will be laid for the annex buildings to the Department of Physics and Chemistry and a new building for the Department of Food Science and Technology in the University Main Campus. Puducherry Lt.Governor and Chief Rector of the University Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, Chief Minister N. Rangaswamy, Ministers, and Parliament members among others will attend the function.

Srinagar, Oct 25 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday evening highlighted that not even a single bullet was fired after J&K’s special status under Article 370 of the constitution was abrogated in 2019. He was speaking to jawans at a CRPF base at Lethpora, Pulwama in south Kashmir. The Union Minister who was scheduled to fly back extended his stay in Kashmir and would spend the night at Lethpora.
