SKUAST-JAMMU TO ORGANIZE FIVE DAYS KRISHI MELA -2022

Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu is organizing five days Mega Krishi Mela – 2022 w.e.f. March 07-11, 2022 at Main Campus, Chatha. Prof. J.P. Sharma, Vice -Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu and Chief Patron of the Krishi Mela during interaction with Press and Media inform that the theme of Krisi Mela 2022 is “Natural and Modern technologies”. Prof Sharma briefed that Krishi Mela, 2022 would focus on demonstration and exhibition of proven and improved technologies developed by the university to improve agricultural productivity, profitability and sustainability in the Jammu region. Shri Manoj Sinha Ji, Hon’ble Lt. Governor J&K Union Territory will be inaugurating the Kisan Mela on 7th March, 2022.

Covid : 45 new cases in UT in past 24 hours

Puducherry, Oct 29 : The fresh Coronavirus cases recorded in the Union Territory on Friday was as same as what was registered on Thursday, with 45 COVID-19 cases have been reported since the last 24 hours, ending at 10 AM this morning, taking the infection tally to 1,27,936 and death toll remained at 1,857 with no fatalities reported during the period.

ING-Help us reach home: Non-locals fleeing J&K appeals to PM

Jammu, Oct 20 : Desperate to exit the Kashmir Valley amid targeted killings of civilians, thousands of non-local workers along with their families continue to queue up outside ticket counters of railway stations and bus stops in Jammu on Wednesday. They appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to help them reach their homes safely as quickly as possible.

MUSHROOM CULTIVATION, A POTENTIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP FOR YOUTH: FAROOQ KHAN

Sh. Farooq Khan, Advisor to Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir during his recent visit to Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu interacted with the undergraduate students of the Experiential Learning Programme on Mushroom Cultivation and Spawn Production. He appreciated the efforts of students who are into learning the various aspects of mushroom cultivation and spawn production. He motivated the students to take up the enterprises of mushroom cultivation and spawn production as these are the potential enterprises of the future and moreover they are now become fully trained on various aspects of the trade. He emphasized that artificial cultivation of mushrooms round the year can be a reliable source of income generation and help the students not only earn their livelihood but they can become job providers rather than job seekers.

Two-way traffic resumes on Srinagar-Leh highway

Srinagar, Oct 2 : Two-way traffic was resumed on Saturday on the national highway, the only road connecting Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh with Kashmir after remaining suspended for weekly maintenance yesterday.

SKUAST-Jammu Conducted Counseling for Admission to Post Graduate Degree Programmes

SKUAST-Jammu under the able guidance of Prof. J. P. Sharma, Vice Chancellor conducted Ist counseling for admission to Post Graduate degree programmes where in the candidates showed greater interest. Candidates from Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and other states attended the counseling and took admission in various streams under Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Basic Sciences as well as in M.Sc. Biotechnology. All the seats were filled in all the steams. The andidates showed interest for newly introduced degree programme of M.Sc Seed Science and Technology.

Traffic resumes on Srinagar-Leh national highway

Srinagar, Sep 11 : Traffic resumed on Saturday on the national highway, the only road connecting Union Territory (UT) of Ladakh with Kashmir after remaining suspended for weekly maintenance yesterday. A traffic police official told UNI today no vehicle was allowed from either side on the Srinagar-Leh national highway for weekly maintenance at Zojila pass.
