Under the able guidance and leadership of Prof. J.P. Sharma, Honble Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu, a five days training programme on Empowering (capacity building) of women through livestock farming concludes at Division of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, SKUAST- Jammu, R.S. Pura. This, third in series of twelve number of five days training programme in the financial year 2022-23 was being sponsored by National Commission for Women (NCW), Govt. of India, New Delhi under their capacity building programmes.

A two days entrepreneurship programme on “Start-up Opportunities for Profitable Livestock Farming” under NAHEP-IDP begins at Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, SKUAST-Jammu R.S. Pura campus to aware and sensitizes the selected thirty final year internship students about the importance of entrepreneurship and startup culture in today’s fast progressing world where becoming ‘job creator’ is being seen as a benchmark of entrepreneurial success.

Division of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Extension Education, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, SKUAST- Jammu, R.S. Pura is going to organize twelve numbers of (5 days each) training programmes in the financial year 2022-23 for empowering rural women through trainings and capacity building in livestock farming. Prof. J. P. Sharma, Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu apprised the media that these trainings are sponsored by National Commission for Women (NCW), Govt. of India, New Delhi under their capacity building programmes. In each training, 30 selected farm women engaged in livestock rearing/handling activities, aged between 18-50 years with minimally literate (5th pass or above) will be provided hands on training on livestock farming with practical exposure. Under the able guidance and leadership of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu, Prof. J.P. Sharma, a one day research facility training program for post-graduate students of Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, RS Pura on ‘Antioxidant assay’ under Scientific Social Responsibility component of DST-SERB, New Delhi funded research project ‘Prospecting prebiotic potential of rumen liquor’ was organized by Division of Animal Nutrition, SKUAST-Jammu.

With the objective to improve research productivity of the PG and PhD students by enriching concepts, skills and tools of molecular biology and immunology techniques, a 14 days national level hands on workshop on the topic “Molecular Biology and Immunology Techniques” was organized under the leadership of Prof. J.P. Sharma, Hon’’ble Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu in collaboration with Science and Engineering Research Board, DST, New Delhi. The workshop was organized by Division of Veterinary Parasitology, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, SKUAST-J.
