Vijayawada, May 16 : Telugu Desam Party National President and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday condemned the 'atrocious attack' on a hotel in Kuppam of Chittoor district allegedly by the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) councillors. Naidu expressed concern that like never before, a toxic culture of attacks and intimidation was brought to the peaceful Kuppam assembly constituency. In a tweet, the TDP Chief termed it as 'unfortunate' that the ruling YSRCP elected representatives attacked the hotel staff and management just because there was shortage of food.

Vijayawada, June 17 : The government of Andhra Pradesh has allocated two acres of land to badminton champion P V Sindhu to set up a badminton academy near Visakhapatnam. The government issued a GO on Thursday allocating two acres of land located at Chingadili village in Visakhapatnam rural mandal to set up P Venkata Sindhu Badminton Academy and Sports school for promoting sports in the public interest.

Vijayawada, May 25 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party National President and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday took strong objection to the registering of 'illegal cases and arrest' of party former legislator B C Janardhan Reddy and leaders in Kurnool district. In a letter to Andhra Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) Gautham Sawang, he demanded the DGP to withdraw the cases and release the TDP leaders unconditionally.

TDP senior leader Dhulipalla Narendra arrested

Vijayawada, Apr 23 (UNI) Telugu Desam Party senior leader and former MLA Dhulipalla Narendra Kumar was arrested by the Anti-corruption Bureau police for his alleged involvement in the financial irregularities in the Sangam Dairy, at Chintalapudi village in Ponnnuru Mandal of Guntur district on Friday. The police went to his residence in the wee hours and arrested him and registered cases under sections 408, 409, 418, 420, 471, 120 (B) (rw).

Voting for GP polls ends in AP, counting of votes begins

Vijayawada, Feb 9 (UNI) The voting for the first phase of Gram Panchayat (GP) elections came to an end at 1530 hrs on Tuesday and the counting of votes began. Officials said that in the first phase of Gram Panchayat (GP) elections in 12 districts to elect 2,724 village sarpanches and 20,157 ward members began at 0630 hrs and concluded at 1530 hrs in 12 districts. The polling was peaceful and no major untoward was reported from anywhere, officials said.

COVID-19: 7,855 positive reported, 48 die in AP

Vijayawada, Spt 25 (UNI) As many as 7,073 fresh cases reported in Andhra Pradesh in a period of 24 hours while 48 more patients died taking the total number of deaths to 5,606. A health bulletin here on Friday said that 69,429 swab samples were tested in a period of 24 hours of which 7,073 were tested positive for Coronavirus, taking the total number of cases to 6,61,458.
