Delhi Congress president Shri Devender Yadav has raised serious concerns about the law and order breakdown in the national capital after a shocking firing incident at the residence of Congress Corporator Haji Zarif (Kabir Nagar Ward). Yadav said that when elected representatives are being attacked in their own homes, the common citizen’s safety is at even greater risk.
Despite an FIR being registered two days ago and the accused being clearly identified, no arrests have been made yet. Instead, the accused’s brother is now openly issuing threats on social media. Yadav demanded immediate police protection for the victim’s family and questioned the silence and inefficiency of Delhi’s police commissioner.
He criticized the “Triple Engine BJP Government” for failing to maintain law and order, saying that criminals are operating freely in Delhi, and the administration seems powerless.
Yadav revealed shocking figures that paint a grim picture of Delhi’s safety:
- 250 murders, 386 attempted murders, 437 loot cases
- 2,503 snatching incidents, 3,186 robberies in the last 6 months alone
- 932 rape & POCSO cases, averaging 5 rapes and 2 murders daily
- Over 1.18 lakh criminal cases filed between January and June
- Rise in molestation, kidnapping, vehicle theft, and even crimes against senior citizens
He warned that Delhi is fast becoming the crime capital of India, and women, children, and the elderly are feeling more vulnerable than ever.
Yadav concluded by urging the government to act before the situation worsens and said, “If leaders are not safe, how can the public feel protected under BJP’s watch?”
