Clashes erupts between Israel-Palestine post ceasefire

Tel Aviv, May 21 (UNI) Just 12 hours after a mutual cease fire was agreed upon by both Israel and Palestine to end the 11-day war, clashes erupted in and around the Temple Mount–also known as the Al Aqsa Compound, as worshipers ended the Friday prayers.

“Immediately after the prayer, riots broke out on the Temple Mount, they (Palestinians) started throwing stones at the police and violating public order,” Sputnik quoted Israeli police spokesman Michael Zingerman as saying. The spokesman added that the police were ordered to “enter the Temple Mount to restore order and also to allow people not taking part in the riots to safely leave the Temple Mount.”

However, trtworld – A Turkish broadcaster, IDF (Israel Defence Force) soldiers fired stun grenades and rubber bullets to disperse a group of Palestinians who wanted to walk into Jerusalem’s old city after the Jumah (Friday) prayers.

Israel and Hamas announced a ceasefire last night to put an end to the gruesome 11-day war that caused widespread destruction in the Gaza Strip and brought life in much of Israel to a standstill.
