Mig 21 crashes in Barmer

A Mig 21 Bison of Indian Air Force crashed in Barmer on Wednesday. There were no casualties.

An Indian Air Force official said the crash happened over the “western sector”, and the pilot ejected safely.

“At around 1730 hrs today, an IAF MiG-21 Bison aircraft airborne for a training sortie in the western sector, experienced a technical malfunction after take off. The pilot ejected safely,” an official statement said.

“A court of inquiry has been ordered,” the statement said.

There were no civilian casualties in the crash.
