Tokyo Olympics: Indian eve’s lose 1-4 to Great Britain

Tokyo, Jul 28 : The losing streak of the Indian women’s hockey continued here on Wednesday as they lost 1-4 to reigning Olympic champions Great Britain in a Pool A match at the on the ongoing Tokyo Olympics.

The Indian eve’s failed to convert several chances and suffered their third consecutive loss in as many outings at Tokyo 2020.

For Britain Hannah Martin (2), Lily Owsley and Grace Balsdon were the goal scorer’s, while for India Sharmila Devi provided the only silver lining.

The Indian women’s hockey team had earlier lost to the Netherlands (5-1) and Germany (2-0) are placed at fifth position currently in the Pool A standings just ahead of South Africa on goal difference.

India next take on Ireland in a must win match on Friday.
