Lucknow, Jun 7 (UNI) The daily Covid cases in Uttar Pradesh has come down below 1000-mark on Monday, as the state recorded 727 new COVID cases, the lowest in two months.
According to government figures, during the past 24 hours, the number of fresh corona cases was just 727 while 2860 people have recovered during the same period.
State Additional Chief Secretary Information Navneet Sehgal said here on Monday that now total active cases in the state was 15681. Among the active cases, 9286 were in home isolation while the overall positivity rate was just 3.3 per cent.
He said, on Sunday, 2,80,220 lakh samples tests were done and now Uttar Pradesh is the only state to do more than 5 crore tests( 5,16,22,903). UP also becomes the state to vaccinate highest number of 2.02,54,000 people so far.
Now, there are more than 600 active cases only in Meerut, Lucknow and Gorakhpur districts, where Corona curfew is being implemented. All other 72 districts are free from corona curfew. In Meerut, there are 898 active cases, in Lucknow, 777 and in Gorakhpur 623.
Mr Sehgel said no fresh case came in 2 districts while in 45 districts the new cases were in single digit while in the remaining districts, the fresh cases were in double digit.
