CISF detects Rs 34 lakh cash at Tagore Garden metro station in Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 25 (UNI) The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Friday detected Rs 35 lakh cash from a passenger at Tagore Garden metro station on Thursday, an official statement said here on Friday. According to CISF officials, around 1730 hrs on September 24, a passenger named Ajamal Bhai, a resident of Patan in Gujarat, reached metro station to gain access into the metro system and placed his bag in scanning machine for screening.

During screening, a CISF personnel noticed image of currency note inside the bag and the passenger was stopped for physical verification. On questioning, the passenger revealed that he was carrying around Rs 35,00,000 hard cash, but he failed to give any satisfactory reply for carrying such a huge amount of cash.

Thereafter, the passenger along-with the bag containing cash was taken to Station Controller Room and the matter was informed to Senior Officers of CISF, Delhi Metro Rail Police (DMRP) and Income Tax officials.

Later, the passenger along with bag containing cash was handed over to the Income Tax officials for further legal action, the CISF officials said.
