Kashipur, Jan 16, 2023: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur and Kashipur Development Forum (KDF) will jointly organize ‘Kashipur Marathon 2023’ on 5 February, 2023 in Kashipur, Uttarakhand. The event is first of its kind where both IIM, Kashipur and KDF have come together to promote Kashipur at the national level.
IIM Kashipur and KDF jointly organized a press conference at IIM Campus today to inform the media about the event. Senior officials of IIM, Kashipur and KDF including KDF President, Mr. Rajeev Ghai, Mr. Chakresh Jain, Mr. Aashish Badhwar, and Mr. Gopal Krishna Aggarwal were present during the conference.
Speaking to the media, Mr. Rajeev Ghai, President, KDF said that “The event is being planned on a massive scale and all stakeholders involved are being roped in so that the event becomes a grand success going forward”. He added that “through this event, Kashipur city will get a lot of positive publicity as per the theme of the event Vibrant Kashipur”.
The marathon will be organized for a distance of 21 km, in Male and Female categories. Winners will be awarded with the 1st prize of Rs. 2 lakhs, 2nd prize of Rs. 1 lakh and 3rd prize of Rs. 50,000.
Online registration process, to participate in the marathon, has already started and will continue till 03rd Feb 2023. Those willing to participate in the event can visit the webpage ‘https://marathon.iimkashipurportal.org/’ or can directly register at ‘https://marathon.iimkashipurportal.org/registration/instructions’. A registration fee of Rs.500 will be charged. However, on-the-spot registration for the participants will also be available at 7:30 am on the event day, with the registration fee of Rs.1000.
The event is aimed to invite runners across states, national and as well as international level and make everyone feel the energy, beauty and enthusiasm of Kashipur city, Uttarakhand State, and its people. The event is being sponsored by organizations viz. Deverpan Namkeen & Snacks, SPNG Group, NAINI, AGRON, Kool Frozen, and Carol Petroleum, etc.
