Mumbai, Sep 16 (UNI) The BSE Sensex on Wednesday advanced by 117 points to open at 39,161.01 as renewed buying in Materials, Consumer Discretionary Goods and services, Energy and FMCG stocks.
The Nifty of National Stock Exchange too rose by 17 points to 11,538.45.
The Sensex registered intra days high and low at 39,161.01 and 39,037.96 points respectively.
The Nifty registered intra days high and low at 11,546.01 and 11,516.75 respectively.
The Mid Cap moved up by 0.33 per cent and Small Cap by 0.15 per cent.
In 30 scrips, 15 advanced while 15 declined.
The gainers were M & M by 2.88 per cent to Rs 631.30, Bajaj Auto by 2.59 per cent to Rs 3017.10, Maruti Suzuki by 1.19 per cent to Rs 7135, L & T by 0.75 per cent to Rs 916.40 & Nestle India by 0.61 per cent to Rs 16,136.
The losers were HCL Technologies by 1.35 per cent to Rs 381.70, Axis Bank by 1.08 per cent to Rs 444.80, IndusInd Bank by 0.73 per cent to Rs 628.90 and Bajaj Finance by 0.64 per cent to Rs 3492.
