Puducherry, Sep 9 (UNI) As many as 341 more persons were tested positive for Coronavirus taking the total number of active cases to 4,770 while 10 patients died in the Union Territory since the last 24 hours.
According to the COVID 19 status released by the health department here on Wednesday, 302 new cases were reported in Puducherry region, two in Karaikal region, 22 in Yanam region and 15 in Mahe region.
As many as 386 persons were discharged in the last 24 hours. Of them, 318 were from Puducherry region, 24 from Karaikal region, 38 from Yanam region and 6 from Mahe region.
Ten persons– nine in Puducherry region and one in Karaikal region succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours.
Presently,1416 persons are being treated in Puducherry region, 63 in Karaikal region,171 in Yanam region and 42 in Mahe region.
Another 3078 COVID patients are under home isolation in Puducherry, Karaikal and Yanam regions.
So far, 18,084 persons are infected by the virus and of which 12,967 patients were treated and discharged, 347 died and 4,770 people were being treated in hospitals and home isolation.
