Alapan Bandyopadhyay new Chief Secretary of West Bengal: announces Mamata

Kolkata, Sep 28 (UNI) Ahead of crucial 2021 Assembly polls, a major reshuffle happened in the ranks of senior IAS officers in West Bengal as Additional Chief Secretary (Home and Information) Alapan
Bandyopadhyay was today appointed new Chief Secretary to replace incumbent Rajiva Sinha at the end of this month.
The 1987 batch seniormost IAS officer has vast experience as he held the post of DM of South 24 Parganas, North 24 Parganas, and Howrah.
He also held the post of Commissioner of Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) and even held the post of Election Commissioner of West Bengal.
Bandyopadhyay was the Additional Chief Secretary of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Textiles and The Departments.

” I would also like to announce that outgoing Chief Secretary of West Bengal Shri Rajiva Sinha, has now been appointed the Chairman of West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation for a period of 3 years w.e.f 1st October. I thank him for his tireless service to GoWB, ” she said before embarking on an official tour of North Bengal, where she would hold a slew of administrative meetings.
