Arunachal continues to witness spike in Covid-19 cases, tally mounts to 5672

Itanagar, Sep 11 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh continued to witness spike in Covid-19 cases with detection of 127 new infections, taking the state’s tally to 5,672. Out of the new positive cases, Itanagar Capital Complex (ICC) reported 57, Papum Pare 18, East Siang 12, Lower Subansiri 11 and Lower Dibang Valley (LDV) 10, as per the bulletin issued by the Directorate of Health Services (DHS).
Five cases were also reported from Upper Siang, four from Lohit, two each from Tirap, Upper Subansiri and Longding, one each from Kurung Kumey, Namsai, West Kameng and West Siang.
Of the 57 cases from ICC, 24 were detected from Banderdewa check gate, 17 from paid quarantine testing centre here, 13 from TRIHMS, Naharlagun, two from RKM Hospital here and one from IRL, Naharlagun.
Four among the 18 cases from Papum Pare are ITBP personnel detected in quarantine facility while 14 from Hollongi check gate.
Out of the 12 cases from East Siang, three are secondary contact of positive case detected earlier, one is primary contact, two are APP personnel and six detected from Ruksin check gate.
Nine among the 11 cases from Lower Subansiri are primary contact of positive case detected earlier and two are returnees.
Barring 11, all the patients are asymtomatic.
According to the bulletin issued by the DHS last night, of the 99 discharged, Papum Pare reported the highest at 20, followed by ICC 17 and Changlang 12.
Total number of recovered in the state crossed the 4,000-mark following discharge of the 99 Covid-19 patients. The recovery rate is 70.61 per cent.
Active cases in the state stands at 1,658 while nine fatalities reported so far.
