The National Expert committee headed under the chairmanship of NITI Aayog member, Dr VK Paul will meet on 12th August to plan the logistics, ethical aspects of procurement and administration of vaccines to fight against corona virus pandemic, tweet by Health Ministry. The committee formed by the Center on corona virus vaccine administration.

Rajesh Bhushan, Health Ministry stated that, the panel will engage with stakeholder on vaccine administration including state governments and vaccine manufactures.

The committee would chalk out a plan how to procure the vaccine. The panel will prepare strategies on matter related to the selection of vaccines, how procurement will be done, vaccines delivery and aspects of prioritisation of the vaccine administration. The expert group will also discuss the logistics including cold chain and training of the people who would be administering it.

At present, three Indian Covid19 vaccines are being clinically tested in different phases. The 2 Covid19 vaccines, developed by Bharat Biotech and Zydus Cadila Ltd, have cleared the 1st phase and will step on the next phase. The other vaccine is being developed by Serum Institute of India,Pune, got permit  for 2nd and 3rd phase, said Balram Bhargava, Director General, Indian Council Of Medical Research.

Covid-19 cases count has reached 22,68,675 and the death cases to 45,257 as per data updated by Health Ministry .
