Delhi’s key border points with Haryana continue to remain shut as farmers’ protests intensify

New Delhi, Dec 10 (UNI) With the farmers’ movement intensifying at Singhu on Thursday amid the continuing deadlock with the government over talks, the protestors are now preparing to step up their agitation on December 14, as even as the important border points of Delhi with Haryana continue to remain closed.

According to Delhi Traffic Police, Singhu, Auchandi, Piau Maniyari & Mangesh pur borders are closed. NH 44 is closed, while Tikri border, Dhansa are closed for any traffic movement, while Jharoda border is only open on single carriage way basis.

Border point at Jhatikra is only open for two-wheelers and the pedestrian movement, the police informed through its official twitter handle.

Borders open to Haryana are Daurala, Kapashera, Badusarai, Rajokri NH 8, Bijwasan/Bajghera, Palam Vihar and Dundahera Borders, the Delhi Traffic Police informed.

With protestors camping at the important borders, the police has stepped up the security arrangements and is continuously working to regulate the movement of traffic and diverting it to the roads that are open.

Meanwhile, more farmers from Punjab’s far fetched areas were seen headed to meet and joining the striking farmers at Singhu after they decided to step up their demonstration rejecting the government’s proposals outright regarding amendments to the laws.

They have threatened to block the Delhi-Jaipur Highway and also other border points also.
