Srinagar, Sep 26 (UNI) The Directorate of Fire and Emergency Services (DF&ES), J&K, has initiated a departmental inquiry into the death of one of its employees due to COVID-19 on Monday in Kashmir, an official said. He said the inquiry was initiated taking cognizance of the media coverage and the statement of GPC members over the issue. “The Director F&ES has stated that the department has taken strict cognizance of the media coverage and the statement of GPC members over the issue related to the demise of Suraj Pal Singh, an employee of F&ES in Magam due to COVID-19 on September 21, 2020,”
He said a social media post by the deceased fire service personnel has also been taken note of. “Considering the sensitivity of the content in the above media post, an immediate Departmental enquiry has been initiated by the Directorate of F&SE J&K and the Deputy Director F&ES Ramban/Udhampur has been nominated as a Departmental Enquiry Officer,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Directorate of F&ES has assured a quick and thorough enquiry into the content raised in the media post.
