IPL 2020: Police arrest seven for betting

Chandigarh, Sep 30 (UNI) Haryana police, in two separate incidents, have booked seven persons for betting on IPL matches in Kururkshetra and Nuh districts. A police spokesperson informed here on Wednesday that in the first case, police received a tip-off that some people were involved in betting on IPL at a park in Kurukshetra. Police immediately raided the location and nabbed four persons for betting on IPL match between Royal Challengers and Mumbai Indians.
Police also recovered Rs 1.25 lakh in cash, Laptop and Mobile phones from the accused.
In another such incident in Nuh, the police busted a betting racket and arrested three accused on the charges of betting activities in IPL 2020 between Delhi Capital and SunRisers Hyderabad. Police team also recovered one Satta Register, one LED, one Setup box and 6 Mobile Phones from the accused.

A case has been registered against them and further investigation is underway.
In another incident police on Wednesday have seized 15,000 banned medicines and arrested two persons who were in possession of the drugs in Fatehabad district.

A police spokesperson informed that during routine checking, a police team near Dharsool Kalan signaled a Swift car to stop for checking. When searched, the team recovered 15,000 tablets fallen under the category of prohibited drugs from the vehicle.

The arrested accused were identified as Kuldeep Singh alias Nanu and Kuldeep Singh, both residents of Jakhal Mandi.
Both have been booked and further investigation of the case is underway.
