78 more test positive in Arunachal, tally mounts to 3633

Itanagar, Aug 28 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh continues to witness rise in Covid-19 case with detection of 78 new infections, taking the state’s tally to 3,633.

While the recovery rate in the state stood at 72.14 per cent.

Out of these new positive cases, 15 were reported from West Kameng, 14 each from Itanagar Capital Complex and Upper Siang, eight from Papum Pare, five from Tirap, four from Changlang, three each from East Siang and Tawang, two each from Leparada, East Kameng, Lower Siang and Lohit, one each from West Siang, Pakke Kessang, Shi-Yomi and Anjaw, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services (DHS).

Eight among 15 cases from West Kameng are military personnel detected in quarantine facility while six are primary contacts of positive case detected earlier reported from Bomdila and one is primary contact of positive case reported from Bhalukpong.

Of the 14 new cases from Itanagar Capital Complex, eight were detected at Banderdewa check gate, three reported from State Quarantine Facility (SQF), Lekhi, two from TRIHMS, Naharlagun and one is detected at another check gate. All the cases from Upper Siang are military personnel detected in quarantine facility.

All the new positive cases except three are asymptomatic.

According to the bulletin issued by the DHS last night, 58 Covid-19 patients were discharged following their recovery from the virus, taking the tally to 2,621. Out of these, Itanagar Capital Complex and Upper Subansiri reported the highest with 15 each.

Total active cases in the state stands at 1,007 while five fatalities reported.

It may be mentioned that the recorded its highest single-day spike of 143 Covid-19 cases .
