J&K reports 636 new cases of coronavirus, 15 die

Jammu, Oct 9 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday informed that 636 new positive cases of novel coronavirus (263 from Jammu division and 373 from Kashmir division), have been reported thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 82,429.

Also 15 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; 12 from Jammu division and three from Kashmir Division, the statement informed.

Moreover, 959 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, including 546 from Jammu Division and 413 from Kashmir Division.

According to the daily medical bulletin on novel coronavirus (COVID-19), out of 82,429 positive cases reported in the state so far, 11,144 are active positive, 69,979 have recovered and 1,306 people have died; 421 in Jammu division and 885 in Kashmir division.

The bulletin further said that out of 18,00,252 test results available, 17,17,823 samples have tested negative till October 9.

Till date 6,09,728 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 26,029 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 11,144 in isolation and 48,084 in home surveillance. Besides, 5,23,165 persons have completed their surveillance period.
