NIA raids J&K in connection with HM terrorist Naveed Babu, ex-DSP Devender Singh

New Delhi, Sep 22 (UNI) The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday conducted searches in multiple locations in Baramulla, Uri and Srinagar, in connection with arrested Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) terrorist Naveed Babu and former Jammu and Kashmir DSP Devender Singh.

According to NIA officials, the houses of Azad Ahmad Pir of Uri, Haleema Begum and Shaheen Lone, Shareen Bibi of Baramulla and Tafazul Parimoo of Badgam were searched and several incriminating documents and digital devices have been seized.

These persons were close associates of the arrested accused Tariq Mir of Shopian, who was arrested on April 29, for his role in smuggling and supply of weapons to HM terrorists, they said.



While Shareen Bibi is wife of Tariq Mir, Shaheen Lone’s who is working as an Inspector in Power Development Department and his father- in-law’s house at Waza Mohalla, Palhalan, Baramulla, was also searched, the probe agency officials said adding that there persons were close associates of Tariq Mir.

This case arose out of arrest of two HM terrorists Naveed Babu and Rafi Ahmad Rather were apprehended along with the Jammu and Kashmir DSP (now suspended) Devender Singh and one Irfan Shafi Mir alias Advocate by J&K Police at Al-Stop Naka in Qazigund.

The investigation had revealed a deep-rooted conspiracy hatched by Pakistan-based HM leadership and Pak ISI and an OGW network that facilitates the supply of funds and arms and ammunition to the HM terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir.
