Recruitment exam for 1.4 lakh posts of Railways to be held in Dec

New Delhi, Sep 5 (UNI) The online computer-based examinations will start from December 15 for recruitment to about 1.40 lakh posts in Indian Railways. Stating this in a virtual press conference here on Saturday, Railway Board Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Vinod Kumar Yadav said that after conducting the NEET and other examinations, it has been decided that the recruitment examination for 1,40,640 posts announced earlier for Railways will start from December 15.

He said that 24.2 million applications were received for these posts. The process of scrutiny of all these applications has been completed and preparations were underway for the examination.

Exam dates will be announced soon, Mr Yadav added.

In response to a query, he said that those who have been selected for Assistant Loco Pilot, will definitely be taken into service.

Their joining has been delayed due to the conditions caused by the COVID-19 epidemic, as they need to be given direct training on machines and locomotives and assured that there was no need to worry in this regard.
