SC nixes plea for imposition of Prez rule in Mah

New Delhi, Oct 16 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed a petition seeking removal of Uddhav Thackeray-led government and imposition of President’s rule in Maharashtra, after finding no ground in the petition.

Three Delhi residents had moved the Apex Court seeking appropriate directions for removal of Uddhav Thackeray-led government in Maharashtra and imposing the President’s rule.

“We dismiss the petition. It is devoid of merits,” the bench of the Apex Court, headed by Chief Justice (CJI) Sharad Arvind Bobde said.

While refusing to interfere with the petition, the CJI said, “As a civilian, you have the liberty to approach the President. You don’t have to come here.”
