SKUAST-J scientists visited Gaushala – provided advisory and health services

A group of scientists constituted by the dean F.V.Sc & A.H., R. S. Pura, under the able guidance of Honourable Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu Prof. J. P. Sharma visited Sri Ram Goushala Babliana Jammu on dated 29/06/2022. The scientific team comprises of Dr R. K.  Bhardwaj, Division of Veterinary Medicine, Dr A. K. Pandey Division of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Dr D. K. Dwivedi Veterinary Surgery and Radiology alongwith PG students. They examined about 100 cows and observed that there were generalised hoof abnormalities and associated lameness, few animals were examined for gynaecological problems, screening of all the animals were done for foreign body syndrome by ferroscopic examination and few animals were found positive for the same. Accordingly, treatment and preventive measures were suggested by the visiting scientists. Further, advisory were provided regarding the general animal husbandry practices, balanced feeding, oestrus synchronisation etc.

A schedule of monthly roaster has been prepared by Dr M. S. Bhadwal, Dean F.V.Sc & A.H., SKUAST-J to visit various Goushalas in Jammu, Samba and Kathua regions for the purpose of providing health and advisory services.
