Won’t compromise on anything less than resignation of Union minister : Akhilesh

Lucknow, Oct 8 : Samajwadi party president Akhilesh Yadav demanded the resignation of Union minister of state for Home Ajay Mishra Teni in relation to the Lakhimpur Kheri incident and expressed his suspicion that the minister’s son could have fled to Nepal.
“We would not compromise anything less than the resignation of the union minister,” Akhilesh Yadav told media persons before leaving for Bahriach to meet the family members of farmers killed in Lakhimpur Kheri violence.

Talking about the absconding Ashish Mishra, son of the minister, who is a suspect, SP leader said ,”the union Minister has an old relationship with Nepal and his son could be hiding there.”

“After information coming that Ashish fled to Nepal, now the Indian government will have to intervene. Now we hope that the Indian government will also intervene and bring the accused minister’s son from Nepal,” he said.

“The working style of the Bharatiya Janata Party government is different. If someone from the BJP commits a crime, the government will save him. The criminal who is in BJP will be respected and they will be presented with bouquets. A summon is just an excuse. Police will welcome him by giving a bouquet,” he alleged.

He asked the media ,”Have we not seen in Uttar Pradesh, policemen who were accused of murder in Gorakhpur are absconding. There are many such examples. Don’t know how many were shot on the knee by the police. In these cases, the Uttar Pradesh government is questioned”.

Akhilesh Yadav said Samajwadi Party will continue to fight for the justice of farmers and expressed his hope that the Supreme Court will take the cognizance so that families of the victims get justice.
